    When making weather vanes, it is desirable for the sculpture piece to have two front sides rather than a front or back. That way, no matter which way the wind blows, you are able to view the sculpture piece from it's optimum side.

    I suppose we are craft sculptors. We make handcrafted copper weather vanes using techniques that date back to Hellenistic Greek times. Our work is intentionally not three-dimensional for functionality’s sake; weathervane sculpture pieces need to turn in the wind.     Thanks for the welcome. I enjoy The Journal of American Craft and am looking forward to monitoring and perhaps occasionally contributing to this forum.
