| Bio | Mila Burcikova is cultural theorist, author and dressmaker. She has an MA (Distinction) in Cultural Studies from Charles University in Prague and is currently a PhD candidate at Charles University and an associate research student at Oxford Brookes University. Until embarking on her PhD research, focusing on the role of craft in social transformation, Mila worked as manager of Accessible Prague Project in Prague Organization of Wheelchair Users. She also acted as Board Member of Committee on Barriers at Czech National Disability Council. Mila is author of two access guides to historic centre of Prague for people with restricted mobility – Prague UNESCO Heritage Reservation and Prague Parks. She is also a qualified ladies tailor and runs her own ethical, slow fashion label MISENSE. |
